The opening of the Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club as a Hilton Curio Collection is major news for the tourism industry in Belize and for Hilton Hotels overall. It marks Hilton’s  expansion in the Caribbean/Latin American region.

The Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club, part of Curio Collection opened at Ambergris Caye at Belize’s largest island. Ambergris Caye is known for its water sports, scuba diving and Caribbean beaches. Off the eastern shore, the Belize Barrier Reef features famed snorkeling and dive sites such as the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, with an abundance of sea life, and the 124m-deep Great Blue Hole. The town of San Pedro is the island’s gateway and center for sailing and reef exploration. The Hilton Curio Collection hotel is less than two miles from San Pedro.

The Hilton Curio Collection has 205 cottage and villa-style rooms across a 60-acre waterfront site with 10 distinct dining outlets, bay and beach clubs, and flexible  meeting  and event spaces.  The Bay Club with a grand pool, bar and poolside spa treatments and the private white sand Beach Club is a short ride from the on-site marina.

The sustainably-built resort also incorporates local materials into the structure.
