Trump authorizes federal aid to state and local authorities in fighting California’s wildfires

US President Donald Trump has declared an emergency in California and authorized federal aid to state and local authorities in fighting wildfires that began on December 4.

The declaration clears the way for Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate disaster relief efforts in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, which are affected by the fires.
