First Latin American airline makes inaugural 737 MAX flight

<

Aerolíneas Argentinas airline took delivery its first Boeing 737 MAX airplane a few days ago and made its inaugural commercial flight from Buenos Aires to Mendoza. It is the first aircraft in Latin America to operate this type of airplane.

Aerolíneas Argentinas passenger traffic has increased 15 percent in the past year, 22 percent since 2015. To support that growth, the airline plans to take delivery of 12 MAX airplanes and use them on flights regionally and, later in 2018, to the Caribbean.

The 737 MAX is the fastest selling airplane in Boeing history, surpassing 4,000 total orders to date. The Aerolíneas Argentinas MAX 8 is configured for 170 passengers and to fly 3,515 nautical miles (6,510 kilometers, a little over 4,000 miles).
