Religious tourism also commonly referred to as faith tourism, is a type of tourism, where people travel individually or in groups for pilgrimage, missionary, or leisure (fellowship) purposes.

The world’s largest form of mass religious tourism takes place at the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Well, in Mauritius it’s this Holy site where the Hindus converged annually for pilgrimage & Tourist visits it daily. It’s renowned for its panoramic views & much more.

Cultural tourism is defined by the World Tourism Organization (Report WTO, 2012) as “trips, whose main or concomitant goal is visiting the sites and events whose cultural and historical value has turn them being a part of the cultural heritage of a community”

Statistics: Although no definitive study has been completed on worldwide religious tourism, some segments of the industry have been measured: According to the World Tourism Organization, an estimated 300 to 330 million pilgrims visit the world’s key religious sites every year.

Our Tourist guides explain you well the Symbols of Shiva, as well as amazing anecdotes relating to this Holy place, I believe that your Holidays in Mauritius is incomplete without the sightseeing of Ganga Talao and the South West Tours. This is the Lungs of Mauritius!
