The International Coalition of Tourism Partners opened a communication channel on twitter @gunfreeus encouraging a discussion on banning guns for private use in the United States. A web-portal www.gunfree.us will be up and running within 24 hours.

59 dead, 527 injured is the current number after a 64-year-old madman let loose his automatic gun during a concert last night shooting into a massive amount of concert visitors from his MGM Mandalay Bay Resort hotel room.

Leaders from the National Rifle Association cannot say this time the “good guys” should have brought their gun to the concert- this would have certainly made it even worse.

Splinternews released a list of every member of Congress who took money from NRA.

This incident is a direct threat to the US Travel and Tourism Industry, said Juergen Steinmetz, chairman ICTP.

Gun legislation, or non-legislation, in the United States of America is augmented by judicial interpretations of the Constitution. In 1791, the United States adopted the Second Amendment, and in 1868 adopted the Fourteenth Amendment. The effect of those two amendments on gun politics was the subject of landmark U.S. Supreme Court decisions in 2008 and 2010, that upheld the right of individuals to possess guns for self-defense.

Gun politics is an area of American politics that is defined primarily by the actions of two groups: gun control and gun rights activists. These groups often disagree on the interpretation of laws and court cases related to firearms as well as about the effects of gun control on crime and public safety. It has been estimated that U.S. civilians own 270 million to 310 million firearms and that 35% to 42% of the households in the country have at least one gun.

Nevada has some of the most relaxed gun laws in the country, a legislative condition that is sure to come under renewed scrutiny in the wake of the worst mass shooting in U.S. history on Sunday night in Las Vegas.

Nevada law does not require firearms owners to have licenses or register their weapons, nor does it limit the number of firearms an individual can own. Automatic assault weapons and machine guns are also legal in the state as long as they are registered and possessed in adherence to federal law, according to the National Rifle Association.

Nevada does not prohibit the transfer or possession of assault weapons, 50-caliber rifles or large-capacity ammunition magazines. Local law enforcement issues concealed handgun licenses. Open carry is legal without a permit.

ICTP Chairman Juergen Steinmetz said: “Do we want everyone to be able to own and carry guns in the United States. Do we, the American People want this? I say NO !”
