The latest numbers say 50+ dead, 200+ injured and possibly counting.
Las Vegas is one of the most active travel and tourism destination in the world.
The attack by a single 64-year-old gunman by the name of Stephen Paddock, is  the deadliest terror or criminal incident in the history not only of Sin City, but in the history of the United States of America. The suspect was killed by police.

There is no indication of foreign terror involved, but regardless killing and injuring 250 people is terror – regardless how you see it.  If it is only terror when something is politically motivated, perhaps it’s a doing of an insane person.

Nevada’s statute says an “act of terrorism means any act that involves the use or attempted use of sabotage, coercion or violence which is intended to cause great bodily harm or death to the general population.

Experts had been saying for some time U.S. hotels and venues don’t put the same security standards on it as counterparts in other countries are doing. In Kenya or Thailand for example, you cannot enter a hotel without walking through a metal detector.

Tourism is one of the most important Exports in many regions of the world, including the United States. Changes are necessary – and this deadly incident may just trigger it.

An estimated 40,000 people dived for cover as hundreds of rounds of shots rained down on the crowd during the Route 91 Harvest Festival at about 10.20pm on Sunday local time at Las Vegas City, a MGM controlled concert-venue in Las Vegas.

Police also believe they have located Marilou Danley, the woman who was earlier described as the attacker’s companion”.

Jake Owen, a country singer who was among the 40,000 strong crowd at the Route 91 Harvest Festival tweeted after hearing gun shots: Gun shots!!! Vegas. Pray to god. Love you guys. Love you Pearl.
