Indian tourists love Washington DC. The Capitol, the White House is getting a record number of Indian visitors.

A new direct flight from Delhi and Mumbai to Washington Dulles launched in July by Air India did further boost the arrivals into the US Capital City.

India is now DCs fifth overseas market, up 24.5 percent since 2015, and 75 per cent since 2013 when it was ninth.

The top 10 markets for DC in 2015 were China, UK, Germany, France, India, South Korea, Australia, Italy, Spain, and Japan.

Interestingly, overseas visitors represent nine percent of the total number of visitors to DC. International visitors, that include Canada and Mexico represent 28 percent of the tourism export generated in Washington DC.
