The President and CEO of the Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association (PRHTA), Clarisa Jiménez, said today that all operations related to the Tourism Activity in the Island are working business as usual and guests are continuing to enjoy their stays. The service at the Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU) and the Rafael Hernández Airport (BQN) is reestablished and most of the tourism activity in hotels and attractions are up and running. Passengers are advised to verify their schedule in the airport official website; www.aeropuertosju.com.

Our heartfelt thanks to all who kept us in their thoughts and prayers. As of today, most of the essentials services in the Island are fully operational”, Jimenez stated. “In the tourism side the infrastructure such as hotels, attractions, and restaurants, among others, are already working with power generators, or the system has been restored. Government agencies are working hand in hand with the private sector to complete a general situation assessment.

Help for the Caribbean on the Way

“We stand with our Caribbean neighbors at this time, our thoughts and prayers are with them”, Jimenez explained. “We will be working in conjunction with the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) to help them restore their lives and communities”.
The CHTA will be enabling a relief fund to help the Caribbean Islands affected by Hurricane Irma. Anyone interested in offering some help can visit http://www.caribbeanhotelandtourism.com/
