Hong Kong: Tropical Storm Hato to Cause Flight and Local Transportation Disruptions
The latest Tropical Cyclone Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 4pm is that Typhoon Hato was estimated to be about 450 kilometers east-southeast of Hong Kong and is forecast to move west-northwest at about 25 kilometers per hour towards the coast of Guangdong. Currently the Standby Signal, No. 1 is in force.
It is expected that the Standby Signal, No. 1 will be raised to a Strong Wind Signal No. 3 this evening and potentially a No. 8 tomorrow morning (23 August) at which time there will be limited public transportation and our Hong Kong office will be closed.
Flights are currently arriving and taking off however there have already been a number of cancellations and delayed flights.
