China’s Sanya wants more arrivals from India
Sanya, the forever tropical paradise of China, is trying to boost arrivals from India. And to help achieve this, a 17 persons-strong delegation of agents, hoteliers and officials traveled to New Delhi on August 16 to meet Indian agents and media.
The primal reason and incentive for this trip was the launch of a direct China Southern flight from New Delhi to Sanya.
This will not only increase travel from India to Sanya, but also from Sanya to India, as awareness will be enhanced, said Thomson Zhang of the Sanya Tourism Development Corporation’s Marketing Communication Center.
The ups of Sanya are clean, pure air, good climate and scenic, natural beauty, he told this correspondent, adding that Sanya enjoys 300 days of sunshine a year.
For the Indian market, the attractive areas are weddings, IT sector, golf and MICE segment. Buddhist tourism, water sports and seafood also hold good prospects.
Sanya has 256 hotels, with 46 international brands. As many as 100 hotels are on the beach.
Representatives from Mandarin Oriental Sanya (Gordon Zhao), Hilton (Jenna Wang), Intercontinental (Helen Li), Holiday Inn (Lance Zhang) were among the team that came to India.
