Data breach at Sabre Hospitality affects several hotels

Sabre Hospitality has reported that an unauthorized party was able to access payment card information for hotel reservation(s), including cardholder name; card number; card expiration date; and, potentially, the card security code.

The unauthorized party may also have been able to access customer information such as guest name, email, phone number, street address, and other contact information, if those items were included with the reservation. Sabre has assured affected hotels that sensitive information such as Social Security number, passport information, or driver’s license number was not included in the affected data.

This data breach did not involve any systems at the hotels or any information that guests provided to the Hotel directly. Hotels are notifying affected guests about the incident so that they can take appropriate precautions. Sabre has notified law enforcement, the major credit bureaus and the payment card brands about the incident.

Hotels affected were the La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa in Texas; The Domain Hotel, a Sunnyvale hotel near Mountain View, California; The Bicycle Hotel & Casino in Bell Gardens, California; and Stout Street Hospitality managed hotels: Magnolia hotels in Omaha, St. Louis, Denver, Dallas, Houston, and Park Cities, Texas, as well as Winter Park Mountain Lodge – all in the US. Check Sabre’s website for current information, as the list of hotels keeps growing.

Unrelated to this incident, Sabre Corporation announced that it has named Vish Saoji as chief technology officer (CTO), effective September 5, 2017.
