The film documentary of the visit of several Hollywood celebrities to Uganda in September last year has yielded an added bonus, when the documentary was awarded second place at the Brazilian TourFilmBrazil tourism film festival last week. The documentary shows the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat in Bwindi forest and the tracking by the celebs when they visited the forest.
It was also learned that Simon Curtis is due to return to Uganda during this week – ash cloud permitting that is – to engage in some additional promotional activities aimed to raise awareness and funding for the conservation of the gorillas’ habitat.
At the most, all of this attention will hopefuly have a positive impact on Uganda’s tourism by bringing cultural and environmental tourists to see these beautiful gorillas first hand, or at the least will garner assitance for the mountain gorillas themselves.
