July 4 hotel trends: Top travel destinations announced


Top domestic summer destinations that consumers are booking hotels for this Independence Day Weekend were announced today.

Las Vegas, Nevada takes first place on this year’s list of top July 4th destinations followed by Orlando, Florida and Reno, Nevada. Nashville, Tennessee also made the list this year as it continues to remain a popular destination among millennials for 2017.

Data also showed that 90% of hotel bookings were made for weekend getaways (1 – 3 day stays) while only 10% of travelers are booking extended stays of 4 days or more. Furthermore, while 54% of travelers are booking through Reservations.com’s website via their desktops, 24% of travelers have been booking their summer travel via telephone, and 23% are booking on their mobile devices.
