Seychelles offering South Africans the chance to celebrate motherhood at Canal Walk Shopping Centre and jet off to Seychelles

The South African Canal Walk Shopping Centre in Cape Town, in conjunction with the Seychelles Tourism Board, the Seyunique Tour Operator, and The Constance Hotel Group, is making 2010 Mother’s Day a grand affair!

From Thursday, April 22 until Friday, May 7, South African shoppers could win a dream vacation for a special mother to the value of R75000.

A trip to the Seychelles is on the cards for the lucky shopper, and the package for two people includes return international flights from Cape Town with Air Seychelles, return airport and hotel transfers, 6 nights’ accommodation in a double junior suite with dinner, bed, and breakfast at the 4 Star Ephelia Resort on Mahe Island in the Seychelles. The package also includes a full-day excursion for 2 people to the Marine National Park of Sainte Anne Island, inclusive of lunch.

This special Mother’s Day competition is open to all moms, and the draw will take place on Saturday, May 8 at 9:00 am at the Canal Walk Shopping Centre. Entry into the competition is simply by completing an entry form, available at information desks throughout the Canal Walk Shopping Centre.

“Adding to the exciting competition, Canal Walk Shopping Centre will feature musical entertainment from the Seychelles with traditional musicians, dancers, and promoters dressed in traditional cultural clothing,” said Camilla Lor, Canal Walk marketing manager. “This is courtesy of the Seychelles Tourism Board.”

The Seychelles participation is being headed by David Germain, the island’s tourism board’s director for Africa and the Americas, and by Marymonde Matatiken, the board’s head office marketing executive responsible for cultural tourism among other special interests groups.

“We are taking Guy Belle and the Zez Group as representatives of our music and culture to Cape Town, because we believe that tourism is a people’s industry, and it is through us all not only understanding each other, but also appreciating each other’s culture, that we shall consolidate the bonds of friendship that exist,” Marymonde Matatiken said.

The musical performances at the Central Court of the Cape Town Canal Walk Shopping Centre will take place on Saturday, May 1 for three performances – at 11:00 am, 2:00 pm, and 5:00 pm to ensure that every Capetonian celebrates 2010 Mother’s Day in style.
