The South Africa Minister of Tourism, Ms. Tokozile Xasa, will visit the Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre to officially handover 100 laptops, open 2 computer training facilities, and also present full accreditation of the facility by the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA) as a recognized training center on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 10:00 am.
The Minister will be accompanied by North West and Limpopo MECs for Tourism, Economic Development and Environmental Affairs; Hon. Seaparo Sekoati and Hon. Desbo Mohono, partners, sponsors, and sector stakeholders.
The Minister is championing this nationwide initiative in partnership with Youth Civil Society โ the National Applications Centre (NAC), the Department of Correctional Services, and is sponsored by the Amadeus IT Group, Iberia Airlines, and merSETA.
The initiative is intended to empower South African youth in conflict with the law with education, as well as scarce and critical skills development support in order to enhance their rehabilitation process and opportunities for sustainable social and economic reintegration upon release, parole, and probation.
