Kuching, 11th May 2017: Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB), the pioneering Bureau in Malaysia, announces the appointment of Amelia Roziman as its first Chief Operating Officer since its establishment in 2006.

Roziman, the former General Manager of Marketing and Sales, will now oversee the development of SCBโ€™s strategies, ensure execution of operational policies, as well as foster employee alignment with the Bureauโ€™s goals.

โ€œI am honored to be given this opportunity to lead SCB. We have an extraordinarily talented team who advocates tirelessly for Business Events in Sarawak. YB Datoโ€™ Sri Dr. Muhammad Leo Michael Toyad Abdullah, Chairman of SCB further comments, โ€œAs one of the pioneers of SCB, Roziman has contributed to the Bureau winning numerous awards for creative marketing campaigns for Sarawak. She was also the first native Sarawakian to speak at the 51st International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) held in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2012.โ€

The Redefining Global Tribes campaign, launched in conjunction with the Global Meetings Industry Day in April 2017, aims to elevate the identity of Business Events in the national and global economy. The campaign made its global debut at the Associations World Congress, Vienna last week and will make an appearance at the Australasian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE) Conference and Exhibition in Sydney, Australia on 11th May as well as at IMEX Frankfurt, Germany on 16th May.
