A massive Friday morning power outage caused a blackout in vast areas across San Francisco, from the Financial District to the Presidio, shutting down BART’s Montgomery Station during the morning rush hour, knocking out traffic lights from Union Square to the Marina District and the city’s famed cable car lines, and forcing the closure of businesses and a federal courthouse, officials said.

At least 90,000 customers lost power, a spokesperson for Pacific Gas and Electric Co. said.
