Queensland Tourism Minister Peter Lawlor is hoping three new Tiger Airways Brisbane- bound flights will increase the city’s tourism appeal.

Mr Lawlor said Tiger Airways would provide 33 additional flights each week into Queensland, making travel more affordable and Brisbane a more attractive holiday destination.

Tiger Airways now operates services from Brisbane to Adelaide, Melbourne and Rockhampton.

“It’s great to see that Tiger Airways is able to assist in meeting the increased demand and these new flights are the perfect way to kick-start a bumper Easter holiday period for Queensland,” Mr Lawlor said.

“The state government is committed to supporting the tourism industry and will continue to work closely with airline partners on a range of options to improve capacity to the Sunshine State,” Mr Lawlor said.
