BERLIN – In 2009, the ITB Supply is being staged for the fourth year and is already well established as a major segment of ITB Berlin. This year 35 exhibitors will be presenting innovations in the product groups of hotel fittings, sales promotion and advertising, organizational materials, and services.

FROM BATH SPECIALISTS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW TARGET GROUPS

One clear indication of the expansion of this sector is the increased presence of companies, which are counted among the leading suppliers. For the third successive year, the bath specialist, Kaldewei, is occupying a large area in order to display innovative solutions for the hotel industry. The Möve lifestyle brand, which enjoys an international reputation for its hotel bedroom and bathroom textiles, is presenting its entire range from bathrobes to towelling. New exhibitors this year include WMF and Melitta System Service with their products for the hotel and catering sector. Also making their first appearance here are Eskesen A/S and El Dorado, two major manufacturers of advertising material, specializing in the international travel industry.

In addition to presenting many diverse products for equipping and fitting out hotels, the ITB Supply will offer a wealth of expertise for the service sector. One example is provided by GeMax, a network comprising some 350 success-oriented hotels and catering establishments in Germany and Austria, which has been set up to combine the interests of a number of committed individual suppliers and to provide successful solutions. Another new exhibitor at the ITB Supply is the Tourism Coordination Office of the German Federation for the Blind and Visually Impaired, together with the National Coordination Office for Tourism for All (NatKO) and ILIS-Leitsystem GmbH. They will be offering some practicable solutions for both indoor and outdoor areas in order to show how hotels can attract a new group of tourists, those with physical disabilities.

COMPLEMENTING EACH OTHER PERFECTLY: ITB SUPPLY AND ITB BERLIN CONVENTION

ITB Supply is situated in Hall 7.1c, which is at the heart of the ITB Berlin exhibition grounds and provides the perfect location for this event. High-visitor frequency can be expected due to the direct proximity to international hotel chains, carriers, and other tourism companies in Halls 8.1 and 9 and to the ITB Berlin Convention in the adjacent Halls 7.1a and 7.1b. With its many outstanding technical papers and speakers, the world’s largest tourism convention is one of the main attractions for trade visitors and hotel managers. This creates synergy effects in both of these areas. For example, on Thursday, March 12, 2009, international specialists will be discussing the current challenges facing the hotel sector.

ITB BERLIN AND ITB BERLIN CONVENTION

ITB Berlin 2009 will be taking place from Wednesday, March 11 to Sunday, March 15 and will be open to trade visitors from Wednesday to Friday. Parallel with the trade fair, the ITB Berlin Convention will be taking place from Wednesday, March 11 to Saturday, March 14, 2009. For full program details, click on www.itb-convention.com.
