Jamaica’s Tourism Miniter to participate in ‘Falmouth Invasion’ Sensitization March

In recent times, Falmouth has received significant attention as it has been identified as a key area for the development of Jamaica’s tourism product.

In recent times, Falmouth has received significant attention as it has been identified as a key area for the development of Jamaica’s tourism product.

With this in mind the Ministry of Tourism has partnered with the Organization of American States (OAS), under the auspices of the Sustainable Destinations Alliance for the Americas (SDAA) initiative and selected Falmouth as a focal area for designation as a Sustainable Tourism Destination. Under this Initiative, which began in 2015, a programme of activities is being implemented to boost civic pride in Falmouth and foster cultural and economic innovation.


Falmouth Invasion is one of several activities geared at achieving this as the town grows as a tourist destination. The venture is aimed at encouraging residents and business interests to keep the resort town clean and foster civic pride.

Speakers at the event will include the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, Mayor of Falmouth, Councillor Collin Gager, Custos of Trelawny, Mr. Paul Muschett. Among the artistes performing at the concert are Aaron Silk and Mackie Conscious.
