The internationally-acclaimed full-service airline, Hong Kong Airlines, and Royal Brunei Airlines (RB), the national flag carrier of Brunei Darussalam, signed a codeshare agreement today to provide travelers with enhanced connections in Asia.

Under the agreement, Hong Kong Airlinesโ€™ โ€œHXโ€ code will be placed on RB daily flights between Hong Kong and Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital and largest city of the Sultanate of Brunei. At the same time, RB will place its โ€œBIโ€ code on Hong Kong Airlinesโ€™ daily flights between Hong Kong and onwards to Tokyo, Japan.

Mr Li Dianchun, Chief Commercial Officer of Hong Kong Airlines said, โ€œThe commencement of our codeshare partnership with Royal Brunei Airlines is great news for passengers of both airlines. Our passengers now have a new choice to travel between Hong Kong and Bandar Seri Begawan, a city with beautiful culture. Meanwhile, customers of Royal Brunei Airlines will enjoy the enhanced connectivity via the international aviation hub Hong Kong to Tokyo by flying with Hong Kong Airlines. We feel excited to provide Hong Kongโ€™s quality service to them on our flights.โ€

Mr Karam Chand, Chief Executive Officer of RB said โ€œRB would like to warmly welcome on board Hong Kong Airlines as our latest codeshare partner. Hong Kong Airlines has over 30 destinations in their network that RB does not fly to. RB customers now have a choice to travel to Tokyo (NRT) via Hong Kong (HKG) on board with Hong Kong Airlines. Through this partnership, RB and its passengers will benefit from the bigger joint network and more choices.โ€
