The third edition of the eTN Summit for the Nepal Tourism Board enjoyed record attendance with more than 110 Southern California travel professionals gettin the message from the CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board and the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism Nepal: “Nepal is open for tourism business.”

Onboard the legendary Queen Mary in Long Beach, California, and in the prestigious Queen Salon, travel professionals enjoyed a delicious lunch and visited with the 13 tour operators attending from Nepal.

Agents attended from Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego.

Travel agent AnneMarie Smith wrote eTN Publisher Juergen Steinmetz:
“What a great event. The vendors were so varied, kind, and informative. We learned a great deal. It was a wonderful thing that you brought all these vendors to meet with us. As I told you, the agents hardly know anything about Nepal. I was shocked when a couple of friends at my table admitted they did not know where Nepal even was!!!! Good that we straightened that out.

“Lunch was lovely, we enjoyed the company and conversation with the three vendors who sat with us. Good to hear more in a relaxed situation.

“We thank you so much for the parking validation, we were happily surprised when the gate guard did not ask for any more money, your ticket’s paid it in full.

“I looked for you before I left; I wanted to give you something. I did find Raju of Sea Links and asked him if he would give it to you; do look for him to get it from him. It is just a small reminder of us.

“Be well and happy, thank you for hosting such a great event. Warmly, AnnaMarie”

On Friday the eTN Nepal Summit will be at the Crowne Plaza Airport Hotel in San Francisco, and Monday’s Gala dinner will be at the Westin Hotel in Seattle. Last-minute registrations are still open.
