The Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi rewards loyalty amongst its clientele with added perks, as recently witnessed during a visit to the Kenyan capital city. Holders of loyalty cards, available incidentally on check-in and replaced later with a mailed plastic card when the first points have been credited, can enjoy room upgrades and late check-outs – depending on the guest’s membership level – up to 4:00 p.m.
The hotel offers its regular business visitors a dedicated lounge on the 6th floor of the hotel, which is available for meetings and social calls with a full range of snacks and drinks from the extensive bar and breakfast, served from 7:00 am offered to those guests on the house. Internet access is also offered free of charge in the lounge, as are a range of papers and magazines, but otherwise e-access is available to all hotel guests against a modest daily fee. Of course, there is a daily delivery of the early morning newspapers to the door, and the range of ethnic restaurants, as well as an all-day dining area in the hotel, leave no sudden craving for a particular dish unanswered.
The Intercontinental Hotel, built originally in the 1970s, looked fresh compared to some of its tiring competitors and in particular the public areas, but also, of course, the rooms showed attention to detail. Visit www.ihg.com for more details or bookings.
