HEBRON, Ky. — For the first time in six years, a new airline is joining the roster at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

The airport in the Kentucky suburbs said Wednesday that Air Canada will begin twice-a-day nonstop service to Toronto, beginning in May.

The flights will compete with Delta Air Lines’ direct service between Cincinnati and Toronto.

The last new airline to launch at the airport was USA 3000 in 2004.

Air Canada offered flights out of the Cincinnati market on two previous occasions, most recently in 2001 to serve passengers affected by a Comair pilots’ strike.
