Over 740 key aviation professionals will meet at Airfinance Journal’s 12th Annual European Airfinance Conference next week in Dublin. There will be a record attendance at the event.

“We are absolutely delighted that so many people are coming and are very grateful for their support,” said Alasdair Whyte, publisher of Airfinance Journal. “We were confident that it would be well attended but are astonished that this year – with the industry still recovering – will be the biggest ever.”

The conference attracts a range of attendees including: airlines looking for finance, banks, aircraft and engine leasing companies, aircraft and engine manufacturers, export credit agencies, lawyers, consultants, hedges funds, private equity firms, aircraft appraisers, maintenance companies, regulators, insurance companies, and other companies involved in financing aviation.
Over 100 individuals registered for the conference last week, with more companies saying they are planning to confirm this week.

“Our role is bringing airlines and leasing companies that need capital together with people that provide it,” says Whyte. “We know our conferences lead to deals and hopefully the record attendance is a sign that it will be easier for aviation firms to find finance in 2010.”

Over 28 companies are sponsoring the event. “We always see lots of interest from companies wanting to support the conference and promote themselves, but this year the demand has been outstanding,” said Graham Sherwood, head of sponsorship at Airfinance Journal. “We have seven new sponsors but are also delighted to have some [who] have supported every Dublin Conference since the first one in 2000.”

The European Airfinance Conference is Airfinance Journal’s and Euromoney Seminar’s largest event and the second-longest running. In April 2010, Airfinance Journal will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the New York Airfinance Conference.

Airfinance Journal and Euromoney Seminars organize annual conferences and training courses in Dublin, New York, Beijing, Moscow, Rio de Janeiro, Dubai, and Hong Kong.
