BUDAPEST, Hungary – Just a few days into the new season, Budapest Airport welcomes three more new routes, springing from S16’s starting block, and on track for another outstanding year of growth. This week alone has seen the Hungarian gateway celebrate the commencement of Wizz Air’s new connections to Liverpool, Baku, and Reykjavik/Keflavik.

Enhancing links to the north-west of the UK, the ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) started a twice-weekly link to Liverpool on 23 March, adding its fourth UK destination from Budapest. Just a day later, the home-based carrier began a twice-weekly service to Reykjavik/Keflavik – another of Europe’s fastest growing airports – while also commencing the welcome return of a twice-weekly direct link to Baku.

Facing no competition on the new routes, and adding another 1,080 weekly seats to the Budapest market, the ULCC has expanded its connections to 23 countries from the capital city airport.
