Flight plans may be affected by severe winter weather conditions forecast for the northeast, midwest, and east coast of the US through Friday.

Flight plans may be affected by severe winter weather conditions forecast for the northeast, midwest, and east coast of the US through Friday. A check for current winter warnings at the National Weather Service website ran like a ticker tape and included Washington state, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, and New York.

Conditions are expected to make air travel difficult, forcing some delays and cancellations of flights at airports in the region. To avoid inconvenience, travelers scheduled on flights through Friday may wish to delay commencement of their trip. Information has been received from Continental Airlines and JetBlue.

Continental Airlines
Customers scheduled to travel to, from or through affected airports, including Continentalโ€™s hubs at Newark Liberty International Airport and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, are encouraged to postpone or reroute their trip without penalty to avoid possible inconvenience.

Customers booked on flights in the affected region for travel through January 9, 2009 are permitted a one-time date or time change to their itinerary without penalty for rescheduled travel through January 16, 2009. If a flight has been canceled, a refund in the original form of payment may be requested.
