SYDNEY, Australia – International Convention Center Sydney (ICC Sydney) celebrates its commitment to gender diversity.

Women currently represent 63% of ICC Sydneyโ€™s workforce, 56% are at a director level and 45% make up the companyโ€™s executive team.

ICC Sydney CEO, Geoff Donaghy said he expected a level gender split within the workforce to continue as the team grows to its full capacity of over 300 full time and more than 1,200 casual employees.

โ€œICC Sydney will continue to apply its commitment to workforce diversity as we grow an extraordinary team to open one of the worldโ€™s most exciting venues in December. A workplace that attracts people with different perspectives will drive innovation, collaboration and overall productivity,โ€ Mr Donaghy said.

ICC Sydney has also partnered with Working Mothers Connect, an industry group that advocates for mothers who are transitioning back into the workforce after an extended break for childbirth or child raising, as it is one of the biggest challenges women can face in their careers.

Other initiatives ICC Sydney supports include participation in the Australian Breastfeeding Associationโ€™s Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace program.

ICC Sydneyโ€™s diversity strategy is built on four key areas: Mature age workers, LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex) workers, youth workers and parents and carers returning to the workforce.
