ISTANBUL, Turkey – Royal Brunei Airlines (BI) has signed a codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines (TK) which allows for passengers to connect from Bandar Seri Begawan to Istanbul via Dubai (and vice versa).

The agreement was signed in Antalya, Turkey by Mr. Karam Chand, Royal Brunei Airlinesโ€™ Chief Commercial and Planning Officer; and Dr. Ahmet Bolat, Turkish Airlinesโ€™ Chief Investment & Technology Officer. Witnessing the signing on behalf of Royal Brunei Airlines was Mr. Ilyas Rory Teo, Acting Head of Network Planning and International Relations, and on behalf of Turkish Airlines was Mrs. Ozlem Salihoglu, Senior Vice President International Relations and Alliances.

Under the codeshare agreement, Turkish Airlines will add its โ€˜TKโ€™ code to Royal Brunei Airlines operated flights from Bandar Seri Begawan to Dubai and vice versa. On a reciprocal basis, Royal Brunei Airlines will add its โ€˜BIโ€™ code to Turkish Airlines flights from Istanbul to Dubai and vice versa. The date for commencement of the codeshare is 22nd February 2016.

Royal Brunei Airlinesโ€™ Chief Commercial and Planning Officer, Karam Chand said โ€œRoyal Brunei Airlines is delighted with the recent enhancements of the commercial cooperation between both airlines. We are keen to further expand the codeshare arrangements in the future to our mutual benefitโ€.

Dr. Bolat stated that โ€œAs Turkish Airlines, we are extremely pleased to sign this codeshare agreement with Royal Brunei Airlines, which will provide us to sell our offline destination Bandar Seri Begawan via Dubai and improve our partnership to maximize the travel opportunities offered to our passengers through the networks of both airlines.โ€
