INDIA (eTN) – Hong Kong expects to see a rise in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) market segment from India, coming to use the excellent convention facilities and flying directly to Hong Kong from six Indian cities.

Meetings & Exhibitions Hong Kong (MEHK), the MICE division of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), honored the top 10 agents from India in New Delhi on January 29, where Peter Hoslin, ED, HKTB, said that they hoped India will be a major player in boosting the MICE business. The award program has been extended to 15 months, and the response has been good.

Henry Yeung, Director of the Visual Art Museum, told this correspondent that the new attraction was getting visitors both from within Hong Kong and from the visitors coming from elsewhere. He said that the museum is inviting artists to play and perform at the museum, which was done in a high-tech manner while having a personal touch at the same time.

Chen Jin Yu, General Manager of China Travel Service, HK, said that they were geared for the MICE market, with a wide network and modern facilities.

In 2015, Hong Kong welcomed 531,770 visitors from India.
