Visitor pre-registration for The Gulf Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM), now in its third year, is now open.

GIBTM, held annually in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is the only Arabian Gulf event dedicated to the meetings, incentives, conferences, events (MICE) and business travel sectors. Taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) from March 31 โ€“ April 2, GIBTM is supported by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and is under the patronage of its Chairman HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan.

โ€œGIBTM will this year be a key focal point in a week which Abu Dhabi is dedicating to the vibrant business tourism sector. This specific industry segment is being prioritized by Abu Dhabi having been identified as one of the most resilient and sustainable sectors. Inbound, local investors will be looking for all thatโ€™s new to deliver a world-class business tourism product while our corporate sector will be sourcing new destinations and venues to broaden their outbound options,โ€ said Sheikh Sultan.

With early pre-registration recommended, GIBTM expects to attract over 1,500 visitor attendees, as well as 300 senior-level hosted buyers.

Graeme Barnett, GIBTM exhibition director commented: โ€œWith our considerable expertise and reputation in the sector, Reed Travel Exhibitions brings together suppliers and buyers in a dedicated meeting place, where the onus is on best business, best professional education, and best networking for the fast-growing Middle East meetings (MICE) industry.

โ€œIf you are an international meeting planner, corporate or incentive travel buyer, event organizer, or involved in the decision-making process for regular meetings, staff training events, conferences, or incentive travel, then GIBTM is a must-attend event. Visitors will find inspiration, solutions, and new ideas, leaving with an even greater knowledge of this sector and how to successfully formulate buying decisions for their next events.โ€

Visitor pre-registration, which is free, takes just a few minutes to complete online at www.gibtm.com . The website gives visitors full information of the event with details of the international exhibition, professional education seminars, and networking functions, which are complementary to all visitors.

Special travel and accommodation rates are available through our exclusive airline partner, Etihad, who are set to fly in record numbers and the eventโ€™s ten official hotels. Etihad will also be exhibiting at GIBTM.

As an incentive to register, all who recommend a colleague to attend will be entered into a free draw to win a pair of designer Maui Jim sunglasses worth US$250.

GIBTM will showcase over 250 regional and international exhibitors. The global line-up of countries now represented at GIBTM 2009 includes Singapore, UAE including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. Major hotel groups, such as Jumeirah, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Marriott, Hilton, Kempinski, and Rotana have also confirmed their presence.

New exhibitors include Mรถvenpick Hotels & Resorts, King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center, ApartmentStay, Rendezvous Italiano, and Travel Convention Arabia while The Technology & Event Services Village @ GIBTM, introduced at last yearโ€™s event, has attracted CoverEx International, Hive the Solution – EVENTEX, salce colada AG, Infosalons, SpotMe (the 2007 winner of EIBTMโ€™s WorldWide Technology Watch Award), The London Speaker Bureau, and Ungerboeck Systems International.

The three-day event is part of Gulf Meetings Industry Week, which also features Meeting Professionals Internationalโ€™s (MPI) Gulf Meetings and Events Conference (GMEC) at the Intercontinental Abu Dhabi, March 28-29.
