HONG KONG and MACAU ─ True to its authentic spirit of live performance and entertainment, Broadway Macau has brought yet another high-energy international collaboration to Macau. The “Do The Write Thing” live graffiti show was held at The Broadway Graffiti Wall last weekend, attended by Mr. Ho Ka Weng, Chefe do Departamento de Promoção das Indústrias Culturais e Criativas do Instituto Cultural do Governo da R.A.E. de Macau along with other distinguished guests. This one-of-a-kind event featured local and international artists who showed off their sensationally creative street art skills in front of a live audience.

“Do The Write Thing” is an international collaboration of graffiti artists and groups – including the Gantz5 Crew from Macau, Hong Kong’s Dirty Panda Crew, the ABS Crew from China and UK Guest Artist Used Pencil. These graffiti masters gathered together to create original graffiti paintings around the theme of “Classic Movies” at the huge, 45-meter-long wooden wall at The Broadway street and entertainment district. A young crowd, passionate about art and originality, were in attendance to watch the graffiti artists paint gigantic murals.

“Broadway Macau is an entertainment district and venue like no other,” said Mr. John Au, Director of Broadway Macau and City Clubs Operation. “Through creative collaboration, we are showing off a vibrant, youthful side of Macau, as well as continuously supporting growing local art and culture industries. Our past events have included the energetic Broadway Macau Street Dance Competition and a dazzling unveiling of limited edition Vespa 946 Emporio Armani bikes.

With “Do The Write Thing” 2015, we are once more making Broadway Macau the place to be for Macau’s most exciting live entertainment.”
Lead organizer of this event, the Macau City Visual Arts Society, was established in 2012 to promote arts and culture in Macau, with a focus on graffiti art. The Society’s founders and key management come from the local Macau graffiti group Gantz5, whose pieces have been showcased around Macau. Gantz5 and the Macau City Visual Arts Society are dedicated to promoting street arts and culture through innovative concepts, creating a new generation of street art performance in Macau at innovative spaces like Broadway Macau.

“We are delighted to be organizing this event together with Broadway Macau. Broadway Macau is an exciting destination promoting authentic Macau culture through performance, food and beverage and art. At “Do The Write Thing,” Broadway Macau is a fantastic platform for youthful creativity and a window showcasing Macau’s artistic side for all the world to see,” said Mr. Mac Chi Lon, President of Macau City Visual Art Society.
