DALLAS, TX – US travelers are always looking to visit the most sought-after international destinations of London, Paris and Rome, but there are under-the-radar destinations beyond these top locales that travelers may not consider. The Hotel Price Index (HPI) identified alternative vacation spots that travelers can visit offering equally exciting adventures on a budget.

In the first half of 2015, U.S. travelers paid an average of $164 a night for international hotel stays according to the HPI. In the first half of 2014, the average was $179 a night when going abroad. Similarly, 13 out of the 15 unique locations below experienced a price drop this year in relation to the first six months of last year, and a third of these destinations experienced a substantial decrease of over a 10%. It’s become less expensive to get an adventure fix, or touch relaxation at some of these underestimated destinations around the world.
