Looking for a winter vacation? Go nude!

Australian resorts aren’t the only ones allowing their guests to shed their clothes this year.

Australian resorts aren’t the only ones allowing their guests to shed their clothes this year. In an effort to bring attention to its members, the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) yesterday released a list of various nude resorts, giving new meaning to “bare bones” affordable winter vacationing.

“Hotels and resorts are all climbing on the bandwagon with ‘bailout,’ and ‘stimulus’ packages. But for a truly affordable ‘bones’ winter vacation, nothing beats a getaway to a nudist or clothing-optional resort,” said AANR. “First off, all you need to pack will fit in your carry-on; ergo, no checked luggage fees will be incurred. Second, no need to purchase any ‘cruise wear;’ some sun block, a beach towel, hat and sunglasses will do the trick.”

From California to South Carolina, AANR recommends the daring to check out the below:

FREE RANGING IN ARIZONA
Not far from Tucson is Mira Vista, Arizona’s “newest” and “oldest” clothing-optional resort with a new name and a new policy of wholesome nude recreation on an old property with a history dating back to the 1850s. The resort is a step back in time, starting with the main building hacienda, home to the lobby, office, dining room, gift shop, library and Old West saloon. Fourteen guest suites in original adobe-style buildings are accented with local rock and mortar walls. The 30-acre grounds are filled with mature trees, saguaro cacti, desert animals and birds. The resort’s address is 7501 N. Wade Road, Tucson, Arizona 85743.

WELCOME TO HOTEL SUNNY CALIFORNIA
The Terra Cotta Inn nudist resort located in sunny Palm Springs, Calif. offers a perfect place for snowbirds each winter. Which is why guests from around the world flock to Palm Springs, the sunniest city in the US averaging less than 3 inches of rain per year. They are almost always guaranteed sunshine for their Palm Springs nude vacation. This Palm Spring property has great offers this Winter, so make sure to check their Web site for the details.

The Terra Cotta Inn is a boutique clothing optional resort, specializing in catering to first time topless and nude sunbathers. In 14 years of business, they have been selected as one of the 10 best clothing optional resorts in the world, one of the best places in the world to go nude sunbathing (Vancouver Sun October 2008), and Los Angeles Magazine has selected them as one of their 4 favorite vacation resorts for couples in Palm Springs.

FINER IN CAROLINA
Families, couples, and single men & women of good character are invited to join the Travelites non-landed nudist club in South Carolina. In their 22nd year, they have lots of events planned this winter including Oyster Roasts, Lobster Bash, Holiday Party, Hot Tub party, and a Chinese New Year Celebration, to name a few at select locations throughout South Carolina. For a full calendar of events and to learn more about joining Travelites visit their Web site.

THE HILLS ARE ALIVE
Even if the weather outside is “frightful”, the fire inside is definitely delightful — and so is the indoor swimming pool and hot tubs, sauna, Spa facilities and enjoyable social events at the Avalon Resort, Paw Paw WV. Though closed for a vacation break following Thanksgiving weekend Avalon will re-open Dec. 30 just in time for New Years Eve celebrations. If you enjoy waking up to a crisp winter morning, snug as a bug in your lodge room, spacious condo, tent or camper, Avalon offers lovely accommodations near scenic mountain trails. If it happens to snow, appreciate the beauty of the West Virginia hills from the vantage of the glass walled aquatics center, then scamper from a hot cedar sauna to throw yourself in a snowdrift!

Should the above list pique your interest, go on and visit the club’s Web site at http://www.aanr.com.
