Local wildfires on the book since Wednesday are threatening certain neighborhoods in this remote part of Washington. The evacuation notice is given for Rimrock Meadows, a private community 17 miles west/northwest of Ephrata (Grant County) in rural Douglas County.

Grant County is also a travel and tourism region in the U.S. State of Washington. It’s for nature tourism and for those enjoying the great outside.

The Gorge Amphitheater, Wild Horse Monument, Laser Light Show, Surf ‘n Slide Water Park, Dry Falls Rock Climbing Wineries, micro breweries and farmers markets are some of the attractions. Accommodation include smaller hotels, lodges and motels.
