Welcome to Europe:  All airlines based in the Philippines

Besides Philippine AIrlines, PAL Express (formerly Air Philippines Corp.), Cebu Pacific’s Cebgo (formerly Tiger Airways Philippines and Southeast Asian Airlines), AirAsia Inc., AirAsia Zest, Island Aviation Inc., Magnum Air Inc. (Skyjet) and South East Asian Airlines International Inc. can now fly to Europe.

The European Commission (EC) has given the green light to all airlines from the Philippines to enter European airspace and join national flag carrier Philippine Airlines Inc. (PAL) and budget carrier Cebu Air Inc. (Cebu Pacific).

All Philippine-certified airlines were removed from the European Union Air Safety List due to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP)’s “openness to improve its oversight functions, complemented by readiness of Philippine carriers to enhance their own safety and operations standards.”

CAAP director general William Hotchkiss III led the announcement of the lifting of the ban on the remaining airlines from the Philippines from entering European airspace.

Lubomir Frebort, EU Chargè d’ Affaires, congratulated the CAAP for overseeing the operations of airlines in the Philippines.
