One killed, 62 injured in Belgrade tour bus crash

BELGRADE, Serbia – A bus carrying tourists has overturned in Bubanj Potok, Belgrade, early on Monday, killing one passenger and injuring 62 others.

BELGRADE, Serbia – A bus carrying tourists has overturned in Bubanj Potok, Belgrade, early on Monday, killing one passenger and injuring 62 others.

The tourists were on their way back from vacationing in Polychrono, Greece, a spokesman for the Emergency Service, Nada Macura, said.

According to the same source, “15 to 20” patients from the bus have serious injuries.

13 children have been injured, five of which have been kept for treatment at the Children’s Clinic in Belgrade – one in intensive care.

State broadcaster RTS is reporting that the accident happened near Transsped on the Belgrade-Nis highway, when the vehicle broke through a metal barrier.

The accident caused a traffic jam in the direction of the city this morning.
