WYSE Travel Confederation has opened entries for the Global Youth Travel Awards (GYTAs) 2015, sponsored by Else Globe.

The awards, which recognize outstanding performers in the youth, student and educational travel industry, have grown to 14 categories this year. These categories include: Extraordinary Experience, Best Marketing Campaign, Outstanding Volunteer Project and Best Social Responsibility Initiative, with new awards including Best Youth Travel Destination and Best Youth Travel Blogger.

An additional four categories – Best Youth Travel Accommodation, Best Airline, Best Youth Travel Agent and Best Youth Tour Operator – are voted for by young travelers themselves.

Also new for 2015 is The WYSE Award, which will recognize an individual, group or organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the youth, student and educational travel industry. The winner for this award will be selected by the Global Youth Travel Awardsโ€™ jury.

David Chapman, Director General of WYSE Travel Confederation, said: โ€œWith the youth, student and educational travel industry representing 20% of all travel and worth nearly USD 250 billion in 2014, it is important for us to recognize organizations that are raising the bar for the youth travel experience and driving growth and innovation across the different segments of the industry.

โ€œFor the fifth year we invite innovative organizations large and small to put themselves forward for one or more of this yearโ€™s awards; they could join the ranks of previous winners, which include Emirates Airline, STA Travel and YHA England and Wales.โ€

The awards will be presented during a gala dinner that will bring WYSTC 2015 in Cape Town, South Africa to a close on Friday, September 25, 2015.

Entries are free and close on Monday, August 31, 2015.
