August 1-2, 2015
Northam to Perth, Experience Perth
WA’s own unique sporting event that attracts competitors and spectators from Australia and overseas. Avon Descenters challenge the Avon and Swan Rivers in a variety of paddle and power craft in an exciting two-day time trial across 124 gruelling kilometres. More than 35,000 people have become Avon Descenters and competed in the Avon Descent, from novices and families, to World and Olympic Champions. The Avon Descent passes through some of WA’s most picturesque country including Northam, York, Beverley, Toodyay and New Norcia.

Gascoyne Food Festival
August 13-15, 2015
Carnarvon, Australia’s Coral Coast
Gascoyne Food Festival features networking events for local producers and food industry representatives, incorporating the celebration of seafood, fresh fruit and vegetables and rangeland beef. The event includes a chef’s paddock tour, an industry networking night, beef workshop, live cooking demonstrations, fresh produce for sale, opportunities to meet celebrity chefs and a ticketed sit down lunch for 180 people, Long Table Lunch.

The North West Festival is set to rock Port Hedland again with some of Australia’s best music artists. The festival runs over three days and helps add greater vibrancy to the Pilbara region and provide a boost to local businesses. An event village, located on the oval and set up adjacent to the start/finish area provides exhibitor stalls, food and beverage, athlete recovery area and entertainment.

Meekatharra Outback Festival

The Meekatharra Outback Festival showcases the regional town through a range of activities. The event opens on Friday evening with family entertainment including a travelling side show, rides, market stalls and show bags. Saturday includes a community float parade, horse racing at the Meekatharra Race Club, fashion parade and live entertainment. The last day of the event features more horse racing, a rodeo and closes with the Meekatharra Outback Ball.

More than 250 artists will take part in the annual event which takes place in several of the region’s towns including Albany, Denmark, Mount Barker, Kojonup, Franklin River, Walpole and Porongurup.

2015 Beverley Heroic

The event is a recreational bicycle event consisting of two parts. The Beverley Heroic Town Ride is a map-based treasure hunt around Beverley where riders find clues, complete the puzzle and explore Beverley’s historic landmarks. The Beverley Heroic is a long distance bike ride which celebrates the heritage of the area, with checkpoints at York and Northam. The Gran Fondo challenge rewards ‘spirit not speed’ and riders are asked to bring their vintage bikes to participate.
