A new tourism destination and services guide for Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, and Tanzania is in the making, and the promoters have just released the first set of details on what users and advertisers can expect.
Wrote Catherine Ndwiga, the driving force behind the new guide, when asked yesterday to elaborate a bit more on the objectives:
“The guide is a one-stop listing directory for travel information for East Africa covering Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Zanzibar. We offer a listing and marketing platform for tourism service providers in East Africa which in return helps visitors to plan their trip to East Africa. This offers unlimited Customer to Business (C2B), Business to Customer (B2C), and Business to Business (B2B) linkages that can be leveraged within our platform.
Tourism service providers can get listed for free on the guide by following simple steps. Categories include:
Accommodation – Covering hotels, lodges, tented camps, self-catering facilities, hostels and camping
Food and Drink – Including restaurants, bars and lounge and Entertainment places
Attractions – Including parks and reserves, excursion sites, museums and monuments, lakes and outdoor activities.
Travel – Covering listings for tour operators, travel agents, car rentals, and flight operators. Tour operators will be given a chance to advertise seasonal offers in this section at a small fee.
Shopping places – where tourists visiting East Africa can be able to shop for souvenirs and general shopping
Features – In this section we write articles about various destinations or facilities. If you would like to be featured in this section do let us know
Events – We list tourism trade events as well as other events that might be of interest to the tourists as well as tourism service providers. If you have an event that you would like to publicize do also let us know.
With the much increased efforts to fuel East African integration, increase the number of tourists visiting East Africa by providing one single tourist visa, regional tourism marketing efforts whereby East Africa residents of Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda can be able to travel with just their National Ids, we feel that the East Africa Tourism Guide will come in handy to compliment these efforts and make it easier for visitors to plan their trip across East Africa.
