INDIA (eTN) – Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, India, will be the latest addition to air connectivity in India. On June 7, the airport there will open for traffic in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Raju and AP Chief Minister Naidu.
The new airport has been built by the Airports Authority of India, at a cost of Rs 42 crores, on 520 acres of land given by the state government.
Kadapa airport can handle ATRs – three at a time – with a capacity to take care of 100 passengers at a time.
Later, the runway may be expanded to handle A320S as well.
