This Friday, May 8, 2015, the city of Las Vegas (USA) will be host to the first edition of the “Rock in Rio” festival on American soil. The event, which is one of the most important music festivals on the planet, will happen on May 8, 9, 15, and 16 in the City of Rock, located on the Strip near the corner of Sahara Avenue and with a capacity of 85,000 people per day.
The Brazilian Tourism Board (Embratur) celebrates Brazil’s involvement in the festival and feels proud to be one of the sponsors to this historic moment in which the United States receives a music festival that was born in Rio de Janeiro and gained worldwide notoriety.
For Embratur, by taking the Rock in Rio to Las Vegas, they are also taking a Brazilian tradition and strengthening the Brazil brand in the world stage. The expectations are that Brazilians, Americans and tourists from around the world will make a great party.
Rock in Rio was first held in 1985 and known since then as the largest music festival in the Latin world. Originally organized in Rio de Janeiro, it had its first edition outside of Brazil in Lisbon (Portugal) in 2004.
