Merdeka, or Independence Day, celebrations came early at Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu Le Rendez-Vous Wine, Cigar & Karaoke Bar to coincide with the hotel’s resident band’s farewell party.

The double celebration saw fans cheering for their favorite band in their last stint and participated in games with loads of prizes won, giving the crowd an exclusive chance to be up-close and personal with the band members.

Entertaining the crowd for the past 4 months, the resident band from the Philippines “Take Note” will be giving their last performance in the city before bowing out and paving the way to their replacement by a local band, “5th Avenue,” consisting of 5 band members with vast experiences as entertainers in and around the city.

Different themes daily, Le Rendez-Vous Wine, Cigar & Karaoke Bar caters to everyone’s expectations with daily happy hours from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Hoteliers Treat on Monday, Ladies Night on Tuesday and Thursday, Regulars Joint on Wednesday, Cocktail Obsession on Friday, and Shooters Night on Saturday.

In celebration of the nation’s actual 52nd Independence Day, Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu will be holding its annual “Giant Merdeka Cake Cutting Ceremony” during the “Merdeka Buffet High Tea” priced at RM45++ per person on Monday, August 31, 2009. All cakes will be sold for a minimum of RM2 per piece, and proceeds will be channeled to Rumah Bakti Harapan – home to physically- and mentally-challenged children, located in Inanam.
