NEWARK, N.J. – A Canadian citizen has pleaded not guilty to charges that he arranged trips to Thailand for adults who paid to have sex with children.
John Wrenshall, who was arrested London in December 2008, entered the plea Thursday in federal court in Newark. A judge ordered that Wrenshall continue to be held without bail.
Charges in the 18-count indictment include aiding and abetting sex tourism and producing child pornography. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
Wrenshall came to the attention of federal investigators in May 2008 with the arrest of a Union City man, Wayne Nelson Corliss, who has pleaded guilty to visiting Thailand to have sex with boys. Authorities say he was a Wrenshall client.
Wrenshall fought extradition for several months.
