The Seychelles trades attended the 2015 Guangzhou International Travel Fair (GITF), one of the biggest B2B fairs in South China.

GITF is an annual event that is held in Guangzhou, and this year the fair was being held from March 6-8 in the China Import and Export Complex Zone C-Guangzhou.

At GITF stand

As one of the most important professional travel fairs in Southern China, GITF has drawn the attention of people in the tourism industry from 43 countries and 780 exhibitors with total display area of 23,000 sqm.

The Seychelles islands were showcased in a 36-sqm independent stand and had dynamic pictures of great beaches as well as elements of local culture.

The stand was headed by the Regional Marketing Manager of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), Mr. Jean-Luc Lai-Lam; Senior Marketing Executive of STB HQ, Ms. Stephanie Lablache; and Senior Marketing Executive for China, Mr. Li Huanhuan.

Alongside the STB team were Seychelles local trade partners: Air Seychelles Sales Manager Hong Kong & Southern China, Mr. Stephen Leung, [email protected] ; Creole Travel Services China Representative, Ms. Emily Liu, [email protected] ; Constance Hotels & Resorts Regional Marketing Executives – Ms. Emily Lee, [email protected] & Ms. Kaven Li, [email protected] ; 7 Degrees South China Representative, Ms. Qi Lanqiu, [email protected] ; Savoy Resorts & SPA China Representative, Ms. Bianca Yu, [email protected] ; Kempinski Seychelles Resort Representative, Mrs. Tat-Leong Sweeting, [email protected] and Ms. Julie Aiken; and Masonโ€™s Travel Representative, Mr. Song Jianjian, song [email protected] .

โ€œThe Seychelles stand was deemed very popular for both Chinese trade partners and the public from this region, whereby new and old partners showed their interest in the Seychelles products/services and as a result helped to create more visibility for the islands,โ€ said Mr. Lai-Lam.

Media partners such as Travel Link Daily & Guangdong TV interviewed the Seychelles Tourism Board representative and reported on the Seychelles as being the new hot holiday destination in China.
