Reed Expositions France, in association with the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry, announced the launch of IWTM Bordeaux, the International Wine Travel Market. A showcase for international products and services from the wine travel sector in Bordeaux, this event will welcome 150 exhibitors and 1,000 visitors from November 4-6, 2009 in Hangar 14, an exhibition center in the very heart of the city, in the historic wine-growing Chartrons district.

IWTM Bordeaux will bring together all wine producers and businesses from around the world looking to market their wine estate as a venue for niche tourism, seminars, conferences, incentive travel, the hotel and hospitality industry and health spas, as well as all tourism professionals directly involved in wine travel: transport and hotel operators, DMCs, etc.

This event is aimed at professionals from around the globe, with the bulk of visitors to IWTM Bordeaux made up of meeting planners and product and market managers from event planning agencies and tour operators offering wine travel packages.

Alain Bagnaud, managing director of Logistics, Tourism and Communications at Reed Expositions France, commented, “IWTM Bordeaux is just one of the large-scale international exhibitions managed by Reed Expositions, the world’s leading organizer of tourism exhibitions, conferences, seminars and
incentive travel. We firmly believe in the wine travel sector’s huge potential for growth. This type of event, which brokers organized meetings between exhibitors and buyers, continues to be the mosteffective way of networking. The Reed group, in conjunction with the Bordeaux CCI, is in the privileged
position of being able to develop the necessary synergies and bring together the key players from this industry.”

Laurent COURBU, chairman of the Bordeaux CCI, commented that, “Our innovative partnership with Reed Expositions has enabled us to consolidate Bordeaux’s position as the world’s top wine travel destination. Our excellent wines aside, we also want to promote our region’s culture and heritage
internationally. The 8 member towns of the Great Wine Capitals Network, created 10 years ago by the Bordeaux CCI, will be participating in the event in Bordeaux.”
