SINGAPORE – CapitaLand’s wholly-owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott), has opened the Citadines Suites Arc de Triomphe Paris along the Avenue Kléber after a €26 million facelift. The 112-unit Citadines Suites Arc de Triomphe Paris is Ascott’s second serviced residence under the Citadines Suites label following the successful opening of Citadines Suites Louvre Paris near the Palais-Royal in April 2013.

Located between the world-famous Champs-Elysées and Place du Trocadéro, Citadines Arc de Triomphe Paris is located in the heart of the central business district, close to luxury boutiques and renowned monuments and museums. The serviced residence marries Parisian elegance in a 19th century Haussmannian apartment building with the postmodernist style of celebrated architect Ricardo Bofill in an adjoining hotel.

Mr. Alfred Ong, Ascott’s Managing Director for Europe, said: “Citadines Suites Arc de Triomphe Paris offers luxury living in a serviced residence that combines Parisian elegance with modernity in a prime location. Customers will be spoilt for choice of spacious classic rooms or apartments with separate bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen, all within the same building. Moreover, our Citadines Suites Hosts will attend to every detail to make our guests feel at home. Our first property under the Citadines Suites label, Citadines Suites Louvre Paris, is recently named one of the top 25 luxury hotels in France at TripAdvisors’ Travellers’ Choice Awards. With the opening of Citadines Suites Arc de Triomphe, guests can now choose from our 43 properties with over 5,000 apartment units across 19 cities in Europe.”

Mr. Ong added: “Since Ascott acquired the Citadines apart’hotel chain in 2002, it has grown to be one of the largest Singapore companies to invest in the hospitality industry in France. In the last five years, Ascott has been upgrading many of its properties globally including Europe to enhance customer experience. By end 2016, we would have invested €125 million to refurbish 33 properties in Europe. We will continue to deepen Ascott’s growth in gateway cities where we have presence such as Paris, London, Hamburg and Munich, as well as explore new opportunities to achieve Ascott’s target of 80,000 apartment units globally by 2020. We will expand through acquisitions of turnkey developments or existing buildings which we can convert into serviced residences, management contracts and franchises.”

Citadines Suites Arc de Triomphe Paris is within walking distance to many attractions including the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Théâtre National de Chaillot and museums such as Musée du Quai Branly (dedicated to Indigenous Art, Cultures and Civilisations) and Musée Guimet (National Museum of Asian Arts). With several metro stations and bus stops a short walk from the property, there is convenient access to various destinations in Paris. The serviced residence also has a direct entrance to the recently opened Restaurant L’Hexagone, helmed by chef Mathieu Pacaud, who has held three Michelin stars since 2009.

Designed by the award-winning United Kingdom architectural firm Buckley Gray Yeoman, the interior décor uses lavish materials and fittings. In the building designed by Ricardo Bofill, the contemporary style includes a mixture of textures such as sycamore wood with Carrara bathrooms. Pillows, chairs and other furniture feature fabrics by well-known French design house Pierre Frey. In the Haussman style building, the décor is more Parisian with Hungarian-point parquet floors, light oak, mosaics and elaborate cornices.
