Saudi Arabian Airlines and Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities promote domestic tourism

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – Prince Sultan bin Salman, chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) inked an accord with Saleh Al-Jasser, the director general, Saudi Arabian Airlines, to meet the growing demand in domestic tourism.

The agreement was signed at the SCTA’s headquarters following their meeting to discuss among other issues the early preparation for the summer vacation during which domestic destinations are in high demand.

In a press statement, Prince Sultan said the meeting comes within the framework of coordination and cooperation by Saudi Arabian airlines aimed to support the local tourism sector and to achieve the needs of the citizens and locals by increasing the seat capacity.

He said that the meeting dealt with the mechanisms of how to address the future vision to keep up with the great expansion of the national tourism and the desire of the national flag-carrier to organize programs designed for the sector that has a vital role in economic growth and job creation.

It was also agreed that the airlines would provide outlets for the sale of handicrafts produced by citizens.

Al-Jasser said that since both organizations are working under one system, there is always considerable scope for cooperation between the two sides.

Under the MoU, the two parties will activate the ongoing study and cooperation to determine the current and future needs of the local destinations, and organize internal flight schedules based on the airline’s potential and capacity. They will also implement a jointly plan to hold exhibitions and conferences.
