Hotel Partners Africa (HPA), the consultancy formed by four pre-eminent consultants to the hotel industry in Africa – Trevor Ward and Vernon Page of W Hospitality Group, Mark Martinovic of Hotel Spec, and David Harper of Leisure Property Services – today announced that it has signed an association agreement with CVT International Consultancy (CVT), based in Addis Ababa. Under the terms of the agreement, CVT will act as HPA’s exclusive representative in Ethiopia and Djibouti, developing new businesses.

There is a logical fit in this arrangement because CVT’s consultancy focuses on facilitating discussions at the initiation phase of major projects in Sub Saharan Africa, introducing investors to projects, government officials to investors and prospective suppliers to the project managers. By comparison, HPA provides its clients with a range of services throughout the lifecycle of an African hotel venture, from feasibility and market studies, operator selection & negotiation, valuations, sourcing funding & finance, development management and procurement, to personnel recruitment, asset management and eventual exit.

HPA’s Chairman, Trevor Ward, elaborates: “CVT is plugged in to discussions about making investments and getting property development projects off the ground. This is one step in time before the point where we usually become involved, which is undertaking a feasibility study on a specific hotel development. Therefore CVT is ideally placed to introduce us to viable opportunities.”

Mehret Ghebreyesus, Managing Director of CVT, said: “We are delighted to be representing Hotel Partners Africa in Ethiopia and Djibouti. Our clients are mostly project promoters who need professional services and investors at all levels. We often reach out to our network of consultants and potential financial partners to support our clients from beginning to end. HPA’s comprehensive suite of services will help us serve our target market better and faster by providing international standard consultancy services downstream from us in the lifecycle of a hotel project. Working in partnership with HPA, therefore, serves to enhance our credentials and expands the range of services we provide. Trevor, Vernon, Mark and David are well-known and extremely highly-regarded professionals in the hotel industry across Africa, so we could not be happier about the calibre of the team with whom we will be collaborating.”
