Minister Mahmoud Hassan Mgimwa, the Tanzanian Minister responsible for Natural Resources and Tourism, was today welcomed by Minister Alain St.Ange, his Seychelles counterpart responsible for Tourism and Culture, at his offices at the ESPACE Building in Victoria.

The meeting was the opportunity for the two ministers to discuss areas of possible operation between Tanzania and Zanzibar, and the Seychelles. The starting of Air Seychelles on the route Seychelles and Tanzania was a point that the ministers discussed as this air service provided the opportunity for joint marketing and of more trade between the two countries.

Minister Mgimwa was invited by his Seychelles counterpart to join Maryvonne Pool, the Seychelles Consul and Tourism Ambassador in Tanzania and the welcoming party at Dar-es-Salam Airport, when the first Air Seychelles flight will touch down in Tanzania in early December. The cooperation in the field of culture was also a topic of discussion and Tanzania was officially invited to participate in the 2015 edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria which will be celebrating its 5th anniversary at the end of April next year. Minister Mgimwa has invited Minister St.Ange to plan a working visit to Tanzania for further discussions on both tourism and culture matters.

Minister Mgimwa is in Seychelles as a delegate attending the Tourism Ministerial Meeting organized in Seychelles by the IORA (Indian Ocean Rim Association).

Seychelles is a founding member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) .
